FUND RAISING
The third general overhaul of 35028 Clan Line was completed in the latter part of 2006. The clock is now ticking onwards to the next!
The last overhaul was estimated to cost £200,000 and this was exceeded by a very large amount.
Although the locomotive is earning revenue while running on the main lines, it is sensible and prudent for us to make sure that funds continue to be replenished, to accrue funds for the next overhaul and also to cover any major work that may become necessary as a result of “wear and tear”.
Quite apart from the cost of the overhaul, and being sure that there is the finance to keep our Locomotive back on the main line, it also costs us money just to stand still. Rent, insurance and general overheads still have to be met, whether Clan Line runs or not.
All donations, whether large or small, are therefore very welcome and will be a great help during this expensive period. Here are some ways that YOU can help:
- Why not make a donation to the general "Overhaul Fund" or to the "Mercator Fund" by sending a cheque made payable to the MNLPS LTD, to me at the address below. N.B. Cheques drawn on UK BANKS £ Sterling Accounts only, or by International Money Orders drawn in £ Sterling. For donations in other currencies please first contact the Fund Raising Officer.
- How about making a regular monthly donation through your UK Bank, by sending me a completed Standing Order Mandate - click below to down load one. Everyone who signs to donate at least £10 per month will receive one year's free "ordinary membership" of the MNLPS - for details of membership benefits see the Membership Page.
- Gift Aid New UK tax rules make a significant difference to our fund raising efforts. This is because as a Charity we can claim back the tax that you have already paid on the donations that you make to us.
