Work on Clan Line’s firebox is progressing well at Leaky Finders in Devon.
The remaining defective sections of the thermic syphons have been removed.
On the replacement sections, the stay holes have been marked up and pilot-drilled.
Preparations have been made to replace some more stays. These ones are on the backhead, by the firehole door.
The new inner firebox side sheets are being prepared, and it is hoped to start fitting them in the next couple of weeks.
